Browning Family Collection

Photographs and family records of the Browning family, one of the Scottish families who arrived in Sarasota in 1885 as part of the Ormiston Colony. The collection includes many photographs of the Brownings and their activities in and around Sarasota, as well as drafts and records relating to Alex Browning's memoirs and historical writings.

Ca' d'Zan Historical Marker Refurbishment Project Files, 2005-2010

Records, ephemera, and photographs relating to the refurbishment, relocation, and rededication of the historical marker for Ca' d'Zan at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota. The marker was originally erected by the Daughters of the American Colonists, but the Sarasota County Division of Historical Resources assisted with the logistics of refurbishing, relocating, and rededicating the marker.

Charles R. Lancaster Papers

Records relating to Charles Ringling Lancaster and his wife Alice, including Charles' World War II era ration application, gasoline rations and general correspondence, plus a number of photographs of the Aluria, a yacht formerly known as the Symphonia when it was owned by Charles Ringling. The photos of the Aluria appear to have been given to the Lancasters at some point by Gene Huber (who acquired the Aluria in the 1960s).
