Arthur Britton Edwards Papers
Scope and Contents
Personal and business papers of Arthur Britton Edwards, who had a lengthy career in civic and political circles in Sarasota. Many of the records touch on Edwards' time in Sarasota's municipal government, including job applications from 1911, letters and petitions from citizens to the Sarasota Town Council, papers from the Town of Sarasota Heights, contracts and bids on public projects. Also included are papers relating to Edwards' correspondence with Bertha Honore Palmer, the A.B. Edwards Insurance Company, the Sarasota Baseball Club, and the establishment of Myakka River State Park.
