Cora Heywood Burley Photographic Collection
Scope and Contents
Two scrapbooks of photographs taken by Cora Heywood Burley, a Red Cross Nurse assigned to serve in Sarasota County in the 1920's and 1930's. Photographs include depictions of Bertha Palmer's estate The Oaks, Sarasota County school buildings, landscapes of Miakka, Sarasota, and Venice, and prominent people. One scrapbook chronicles Heywood Burley's time in Sarasota County and one scrapbook depicts scenes from her home area in the New England area. Additional loose photographs of the Nicholas homestead are also included.

This collection is stored offsite in a remote storage facility. Materials from the collection can be brought to the Sarasota County History Center for viewing upon request.
