Scope and Contents

This collection consists of about 175 panoramic photographs of Sarasota, all taken in 1926 and 1927. Subjects include Katahdin Apartments, a dredge at City Island, Owen Burns, New Pass, the Tip Toe Inn in Sarasota, storm damage following a hurricane, farm workers, celery farming, Ringling Causeway, John Ringling's yacht Zalophus, Belle Haven Apartments, El Vernona Hotel, Jordan Motor Cars, Hotel Watrous, Hover Arcade, Five Points, oil drilling, the Main Street corridor, and baseball.

This collection is stored offsite in a remote storage facility. Materials from the collection can be brought to the Sarasota County History Center for viewing upon request.
