Bill and Claire Stowers Scrapbook Collection
Scope and Contents
"Nine scrapbooks containing mostly family photographs from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, some of which were taken in the Sarasota area. One scrapbook consists almost entirely of photographs taken in Europe during World War II. The photographer (presumably a soldier in the family) is unknown. Persons identified in some of the photos include Mary Lou Welch Reese (or Reece), Willadene Walker (who definitely lived in Sarasota in the mid-1950s and attended Bay Haven Elementary School), Bill and Claire Stowers, and Harry M. and Vera Walker (parents of Willadene). One scrapbook contains a program and ticket from a production of ""Hansel and Gretel"" by the Palm Tree Playhouse Children's Theatre. Another scrapbook is devoted entirely to photos of Willadene Walker."
